After almost 260 years of life as a spiritual fortress, the Convent has opened to the public as a part of an initiative that seeks its preservation and restoration.
In 2005, with funding from the Cariplo Association of Milan and the Carla Crippa de Seregno Italia Association, students at the Santa Teresa Restoration School began working on the convent’s restoration. The building itself has been declared a Bolivian national monument.
In 2006 volunteer guides began to offer tours of the convent building, in the hopes of making its architectural and historic merits better known to the public.
Please help the Convent Museum’s supporters save this tranquil paradise, hidden in the crowded streets of Cochabamba’s central city.
